1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Retrograde Observatory API services ("Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use our Services.

These Terms apply to all users of the Services, including developers, researchers, businesses, and enterprises accessing our APIs.

2. Service Description

Retrograde Observatory provides API services for astronomical and timestamp data calculations, including:

• 3D Time Coordinate calculations (SIPS & Vortex)
• Celestial body position data for 109 objects
• Behavioral Modulation Signals (BMS) calculations
• Time Intelligence APIs (TEA, Lumina I/O)
• Historical data spanning 4000+ years
• 9-Calendar Framework integration

3. Account Registration

To access our Services, you must create an account and provide accurate, complete information. You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your API keys and account credentials
• All activities that occur under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access or security breaches
• Keeping your account information up to date

4. API Usage & Billing

Our Services operate on a pay-per-use model:

• Base Rate: $5.00 per 1,000 weighted requests
• Weighted Requests: Different API endpoints have different weights (Basic 1.0x, Standard 1.5x, Advanced 3.0x, Premium 5.0x, Custom 10.0x)
• Volume Discounts: Up to 85% discount at high usage levels
• Pre-paid Credits: You must maintain a positive balance to use the Services

5. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree NOT to use the Services to:

• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Infringe upon intellectual property rights of others
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from our APIs
• Resell or redistribute our data without explicit written permission
• Exceed rate limits or attempt to circumvent usage restrictions
• Transmit malware, viruses, or harmful code
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity of our Services
• Use automated systems to scrape or collect data beyond API allowances

6. Intellectual Property

Retrograde Observatory retains all rights, title, and interest in:

• The proprietary algorithms and calculation methods
• The 3D Time Coordinate system (SIPS, Vortex, TEA)
• API documentation, designs, and specifications
• Trademarks, logos, and brand assets

You retain all rights to applications you build using our APIs, subject to these Terms.

7. Data Accuracy Disclaimer

While we strive for accuracy, all calculations and data are provided "as-is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee:

• The accuracy or completeness of astronomical calculations
• Fitness for any particular purpose or outcome
• Uninterrupted or error-free service availability

Users should independently verify critical calculations for their specific use cases.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for Services in the 12 months preceding the claim
• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• We are not responsible for decisions made based on our API data
• We are not liable for third-party actions or services

9. Service Modifications

We reserve the right to:

• Modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services with 30 days notice
• Update pricing with 30 days advance notice
• Change API endpoints or deprecate features with reasonable migration periods
• Update these Terms as needed (material changes will be notified via email)

10. Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if:

• You violate these Terms or our Acceptable Use Policy
• Your account has a negative balance or payment issues
• We detect fraudulent or abusive activity
• Required by law or regulatory authority

You may terminate your account:

• At any time through your account settings or by contacting support
• Unused credits are non-refundable unless otherwise required by law

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
